Why do 3D printers recommend PLA ?
In the material universe of 3D printing, PLA Filament has become the recognized "star material" due to its irreplaceable comprehensive advantages. Both professional creators and amateurs are highly fond of this 3D Printer Filament, which is derived from renewable resources. With its ease of operation, environmental friendliness and wide adaptability, it meets diverse needs from beginner practice to exquisite creation, becoming the "preferred material" in the 3D printing field and redefining the creative experience of "low threshold and high cost performance".
The core advantage of PLA Filament lies in its "ease of use and zero threshold", which is also the key reason why it is widely recommended. Unlike ABS Filament, which requires high-temperature heating of the bed, its printing temperature is lower (usually 190-210℃), and it can stably produce filament without complex equipment debugging. It has excellent interlayer adhesion and is less prone to warping and cracking problems. Even beginners who are new to 3D printing can easily obtain smooth and flat finished products. This "install and print immediately" convenience makes it perfectly compatible with 3D Printing pens - children can use it to draw three-dimensional graffiti, and handicraft enthusiasts can use it to repair and decorate. They can enjoy the pleasure of creation without professional skills, significantly lowering the entry threshold of 3D printing.
The environmental protection genes and safety features endow it with unique value. As a biodegradable material made from renewable resources such as corn starch and sugarcane, PLA Filament has no pungent odor during the printing process and is environmentally friendly, perfectly aligning with the concept of sustainable creation. This stands in sharp contrast to ABS Filament, which needs to handle volatile substances, making it an ideal choice for environments such as homes and schools. The low toxicity feature ensures that parents need not worry about their children's safety when using 3D Printing pens, safeguarding the original intention of creativity with an environmental protection concept.
Extensive adaptation and diverse forms broaden the boundaries of creation. PLA Filament is compatible with the vast majority of FDM 3D printers and 3D Printing pens (1.75mm specification), and can stably output from entry-level devices to professional-level machines. More importantly, it has given rise to a rich variety of forms - from Silk PLA Filament with a silk-like luster to Chameleon PLA Filament with dynamic colors. From the Wood PLA Filament that simulates the wood texture to the Silk Candy PLA Filament that integrates candy tones, each variant retains the easy printable feature of PLA, but has its own merits in visual expression, meeting diverse needs ranging from functional components to artistic decorations.
Performance balance and scene adaptation meet diverse demands. Although it is not as elastic as TPU Filament in terms of impact resistance and slightly inferior to PETG Filament and ABS Filament in terms of high-temperature resistance, PLA Filament has moderate hardness and strong detail expression, which is sufficient to handle the vast majority of non-industrial scenarios. Whether it is exquisitely crafted model ornaments, practical storage boxes, creative gifts or educational AIDS, it can precisely present design details. The surface is smooth and fine, and the post-processing (such as polishing and dyeing) is also more convenient, making the implementation of creativity more efficient.
In the material comparison, its comprehensive advantages are obvious at a glance. Compared with the high temperature and difficulty of ABS Filament, it lowers the operational threshold with low-temperature flexibility. Unlike the strong and tough properties of PETG Filament, it is known for its easy processability. It is more suitable for works that require a rigid structure than TPU Filament. As the "universal basic model" for 3D printing, PLA Filament can not only serve as the first choice for beginners to get started, helping users familiarize themselves with the 3D printing process; It can also serve as a carrier of inspiration for professional creators, achieving complex visual expressions through diverse variants. This is precisely the core reason why it has remained popular in the 3D Printer Filament camp for a long time.
While other materials are delving deeply into a single performance, PLA Filament has firmly taken the center stage with its "balanced adaptation + diverse forms" posture. Unlike ABS Filament, which relies on professional equipment, and unlike special functional materials, which are limited to specific scenarios, it uses the combined advantages of "easy operation + environmental protection + diverse expression" to become the best bridge connecting creativity and reality. By choosing PLA Filament, you don't have to compromise between "operational difficulty", "environmental responsibility" and "creative demands". With this star material in the 3D printing world, unlock the possibilities of creation from beginner to expert at all stages.

How to set the printing parameters for PLA?
The most basic setting for different consumables is the printing temperature and hot bed temperature. The parameters are not fixed and need to be adjusted according to the actual situation. For example, consumables that have been stored for a long time need to increase the printing temperature, and special PLA also needs to increase the printing temperature. We need to note that the printing temperature should not be blindly increased. When the temperature is above 220 ° C, it is easy to cause bubbles inside the PLA, resulting in poor printing effect. If the hot bed temperature is too high, it will cause the bottom of the model to melt.
How can we select high-quality PLA?
① The material purity should be high
② The thickness of the wire is consistent, and the cross-section is close to a circle.
We need to observe whether it has color differences, spots, and small bubbles. If the above phenomena exist, it indicates that it contains a lot of recycled materials.
Next, take out a wire about 1 meter long, use a measuring caliper or brush it with your hand to check if the thickness is consistent and the surface is smooth. Then use a caliper to clamp the line and rotate it for one circle. If the rotation is smooth and there are no scratches on the surface, it indicates that the cross-section of the consumable is relatively round.
When printing, observe the printing effect of the first layer (with the printing platform leveled), mainly focusing on its width and uniformity. The extruded wire is relatively uniform and flat, indicating that it has fewer impurities and high quality.
